The 1999 tour was not a success. We lost more matches and players than on any other tour. Donna's T-shirt design, based on the Star Trek logo, was meant to be about the Next Generation of players coming through and about the reproductive successes of the old order. As backs, knees and Adi's collar bone started to fall apart, it felt as if the joke was on us.
