notes: 

1. note the thumb picks both the bottom two strings; top string
   could be ring or little finger. probably easiest in the main riff
   if the index finger frets the D string - the 02 hammer at the
   end of the first bar can still be done with the middle finger.
2. in the 2nd bit, which one of the open middle two strings gets
   played at # is very variable. The version I've included here
   only occurs once but seems the least random (using just thumb
   and index fingers, with the index trying to keep two strings
   higher than the thumb, seems to work ok for me.)
3. I find hammering on the note at * in the 1st bit makes the
   picking easier and sounds OK.
4. there are occasional variations involving the top strings but
   I've left these out for clarity.

5. the verse is a little simpler:
